Special Projects - Object support and display solutions
Transport and display solution for 18th century Bavarian Sleigh
This 18th century Bavarian Sleigh required structural restoration but could not be moved from its location. A bespoke stand was built to allow repairs to the carved and gilded sleds.
After conservation a bespoke steel and mahogany transport carriage was fabricated to allow the object to be supported and to be moved around without causing damage to the delicate parts of the historic surface.
Conservation and display solution for two 15th century Triptychs
These two triptychs were displayed in an area accessible to the public. Each was displayed on the top of an Elizabethan court cupboard and required a solution that would allow them to be displayed safely and collected quickly in the event of an emergency such as a fire.
They have bespoke security solutions allowing them to now be displayed without fear of theft, and they can also be removed if need be in a matter of minutes.
